Shania Twain’s Secret To Great Hair And Skin Comes Out Of Her Kitchen Pantry

It’s been nearly 30 years since Shania Twain debuted on the country music scene, and the now-56-year-old hasn’t aged much since. One of her many secrets to looking youthful is a product that can be found in your kitchen cabinet.
In a 2017 interview with The Cut, Twain revealed that the one common kitchen ingredient she calls “the star product in my life.”
“Olive oil is everything. Iâll mix olive oil with any lotion for my body. I use olive oil on my face when Iâm using sugar to exfoliate. I use olive oil on the ends of my hair when itâs dry,” the “Any Man of Mine” singer said.
She also credits sunscreen, C complex, and her own self-concocted exfoliator for her glowing complexion.
“I exfoliate every day, I wear sunscreen every day, and I use a C complex as well. Thatâs made a huge difference with my skin,” Twain said. “This is going to sound weird, but because Iâm traveling so much, I take sugar and a bit of olive oil or any face cream that Iâve got handy, and mix it with a little bit of warm water, and I gently scrub my face. I came up with it myself. Itâs very hard to find an exfoliator that I really like. I tried so many. I have tried very fine sand before as well, but itâs a little bit too abrasive. Sugar works well because it softens with a little bit of warm water and itâs not sharp on the skin.”

In addition to a hair and skin care routine, Shania Twain eats lots of smoothies (she even has a blender in her hotel room wherever she goes) and stays active.
“I always say the tennis court is my gym â I love tennis. I started playing it with my son when he was about 7. I was already older, in my early 40s. With tennis, I forget that Iâm working out because itâs a game,” Twain said before sharing that she sneaks in plenty of walks when tennis isn’t an option.
“If Iâve got to go to an appointment, Iâll try to walk there, or walk back because going off to play tennis isnât always easy when Iâve got a busy work schedule. Iâll wear my running shoes for the walk and pack my dress shoes in my backpack, and build in my exercise that way.”
