Randy Travis Is Releasing A New Song, Titled “Where That Came From,” On Friday, May 3
Country music legend Randy Travis is releasing a new song, his first in over 10 years.
Travis suffered a stroke in 2013 that had a significant impact on his ability to speak and sing. Since then, he’s made a few appearances to sing parts of songs such as “Forever and Ever, Amen” and “Amazing Grace.”
Travis has also released some old recordings in the 11 years since his stroke. But his last album of new material was 2014’s Influence Vol. 2: The Man I Am, which was recorded before his stroke.

On April 28, Travis shared a video on social media that seemed to tease the upcoming release of a new song. The video shows Travis smiling in the studio while some instrumental music plays.
His post caught the attention of artists such as Carrie Underwood, Clay Walker, Cody Johnson, Josh Turner, Craig Campbell, and Lainey Wilson, among others.
“He’s done it again yâall! Can’t wait to hear it,” Wilson commented.
“Y’all⦠I might be the most excited for this,” said Turner.
“This fires me up!” said Campbell.
“I have chills” commented Johnson.

Travis shared another video on Wednesday (May 1). In the caption, he confirmed his plans to release a new song on Friday, May 3, titled “Where That Came From.”
“It’s been a while since my last new recording, but I’m excited to share that this Friday, May 3, I will be releasing my first brand new studio recording in more than a decade, ‘Where That Came From,'” Travis said.
The legendary singer promised to share more details about the song and “the special team of folks who came together to help make this magical moment in [his] career possible.”
“In the meantime, just know that when it comes to me singing songs for you, there’s always more where that came from. Thank you for singing along all these years,” he said.
The video Travis shared shows him working in the studio with his team. It also includes a short preview of the song. Check out that clip below.
