ACM Awards Confirm Dolly Parton & Garth Brooks Are Not Returning To Host This Year’s Ceremony
Country music superstars Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks co-hosted the ACM Awards in 2023. It was Brooks’ first time hosting an awards ceremony. Parton previously hosted the ACM Awards in 2022 and 2000 and also hosted the CMA Awards in the past.
Parton and Brooks entertained fans with their hilarious opening skit. Brooks called Parton “The King of Country Music” and “The G.O.A.T.,” prompting Parton to wheel a real goat onstage in a wagon.
The duo also shared a touching moment as they remembered the country stars who died in the months before the ceremony. They specifically mentioned Loretta Lynn and Naomi Judd.
Then, Parton sang a short piece of “Precious Memories” to honor Lynn, Judd, and the other stars we lost.

Those who loved watching Brooks and Parton hoped they’d reunite to host the ACM Awards again. However, on Thursday (April 25), the ACM confirmed the duo is not returning to host the ceremony this year.
Who Is Hosting The 2024 ACM Awards?
So if Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks aren’t hosting the 2024 ACM Awards, who is? The ACM named their replacement on April 25.
Another country music icon is hosting the ceremony this year. This artist has LOTS of experience as a host of the ACM Awards. They’ve hosted the ceremony a record-setting 16 times, most recently in 2019.
So who is the new host of the ACM Awards? It’s Reba McEntire!
“Oh hey @ACMawards, have you missed me?” McEntire said in a post announcing her return as host.

McEntire actually shared some advice with Brooks when he prepared to host the ACM Awards last year. She told him:
“When I was first doing the hosting situations, I would be so uptight and precise, and it was not as much fun for me and therefore it’s not as much fun for the audience. But when you get out there and cut up and have a good time — which I know you guys will, I can’t wait to watch the show — you guys’ll have a blast.”
Brooks took McEntire’s advice to heart, because it seems he and Parton had an absolute blast hosting the ACM Awards last year! Revisit their opening monologue in the video below.
