Happy’s Place Set To Host A Reba Reunion As Former Star Christopher Rich Joins The Cast
Christopher Rich, who famously played Reba McEntire‘s ex-husband on the Reba sitcom, is joining the cast of her new show, Happy’s Place.
The Reba show ran for six seasons from 2001 to 2007. The series starred McEntire as Reba Hart, a recently divorced mom with three children. Her husband, Brock (played by Rich), had an affair and ended up marrying the other woman, Barbara Jean (played by Melissa Peterman).

The Reba cast has remained close since the show ended. There have been past talks of a reunion or reboot, though nothing has come to fruition yet.
But a mini-Reba reboot sparked when casting started for McEntire’s latest sitcom, Happy’s Place. The series stars McEntire as Bobbie, a woman running her late father’s tavern. She discovers she has a younger half-sister she never knew about before, who’s also her new business partner.
The show also stars McEntire’s Reba castmate Melissa Peterman as the chatty bartender, Gabby. A previous episode featured a guest appearance from Steve Howey, who played McEntire’s son-in-law, Van Montgomery, on Reba.

Now, Christopher Rich is joining the cast of Happy’s Place in a new guest role.
According to Variety, Rich will play a character named Maverick, who is described as:
“…a local tattoo artist that is very good at his job … as long as he’s using his right hand. Turns out Maverick has had a stroke and likes to tease new clients about which hand he’s going to use when he starts doing their tattoos.”
Variety also reports that One Day at a Time star Justina Machado has been cast to play Maritza, the mother of Bobbie’s half-sister Isabella (played by Belissa Escobedo). Maritza is described as:
“…a self-made woman who put herself through law school as a single mom. She started a wildly successful law practice and does not suffer fools.”
It has not yet been revealed which episodes will feature Rich and Machado’s new characters. Tune in to Happy’s Place on Friday nights on NBC to see when they appear!
