Melissa Peterman Shares How “Adorable” Reba and Rex Linn’s Relationship Is On Set of ‘Happy’s Place’

Reba McEntire and Her Boyfriend Rex Linn Have Been Dating for Nearly Five Years, and the Couple is Now Starring Together in a New Sitcom.

Reba’s new show, Happy’s Place, premieres on NBC on Friday, October 18. The series follows McEntire as Bobbie, a woman who inherits her late father’s restaurant and discovers a half-sister she never knew existed.

Alongside McEntire’s exciting return to starring in a sitcom nearly 20 years after Reba aired, several familiar faces will be joining her. Reba alum Melissa Peterman will take on the role of a bartender named Gabby, while McEntire’s real-life boyfriend, Rex Linn, will portray a line cook named Emmett.

Melissa Peterman Gives Insight Into Reba and Rex’s “Adorable” Relationship

With McEntire and Linn blending their personal and professional lives, many are naturally curious about how that dynamic plays out. During an interview with People, Peterman addressed that very question.

“It’s adorable and oftentimes … we’re taking a five-minute break or we’re having breakfast or lunch and you look over and we have a bar set — it takes place at Happy’s Place — and you look over and they’re in a booth at the bar. And it looks like they’re legitimately on a date at a restaurant just sitting together being so adorably cute,” Peterman said.

“I will also add they’re really professional about it too. I mean, it’s, it’s very cute,” Peterman continued. “But at the same time, the minute we get back to work, you’re back to work and you make her run lines all the time.”

It’s no surprise that McEntire and Linn can balance their romantic relationship with work, especially since this isn’t the first time they have starred alongside each other.

The pair first met on set while filming The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw in 1991. Since then, they have collaborated on several projects over the years, including a Lifetime movie, ABC’s Big Sky, and Young Sheldon.

With Happy’s Place premiering in just a couple of days, Reba McEntire has released the official theme song for the show. Co-written by McEntire, legendary singer-songwriter Carole King, and Doug Sisemore, the song captures the happiness and friendship that visitors will experience at ‘Happy’s Place.’
