Reba McEntire’s Boyfriend Joins Her New NBC Sitcom
People were thrilled when Reba McEntire shared the news that her boyfriend, Rex Linn, has joined the cast of her new NBC sitcom, Happy’s Place. He’s the latest confirmed cast member, with Belissa Escobedo and Melissa Peterman previously being named as Reba’s co-stars.
Reba will play a character named Bobbie, who inherits a restaurant after her father’s death. However, she’s shocked to discover that her new business partner is the younger half-sister she never knew about before. Belissa Escobedo will play Bobbie’s sister, Isabella.

Melissa Peterman will play a character named Gabby. Gabby is described as a bartender who’s “needy and dramatic” and would love to be Bobbie’s sister.
Fans were especially thrilled to learn about Melissa’s involvement in the show, since Melissa co-starred with Reba on her namesake sitcom years ago. Melissa played Barbara Jean alongside Reba’s character, Reba Hart.

Reba didn’t share any details about Rex’s character when she first announced he joined the cast. She simply said, “…now weâre back with Melissa Peterman and Rex Linn, my boyfriend, and [a] wonderful, wonderful cast and crew.”
Who Is Rex Linn Playing On Happy’s Place?
USA Today shared some new details about Rex’s character in an article published on May 10.
The publication revealed that Rex “will play a short-order cook,” presumably at Bobbie and Isabella’s restaurant. However, they did not share the name of Rex’s character.
The outlet did reveal some new details about when Happy’s Place will air. While an exact premiere date was not named, USA Today shared the series is expected to debut in the fall. It will air on Friday nights after Lopez and Lopez.
Happy’s Place will not be the first project Reba and Rex have worked on together. They met on the set of the 1991 movie The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw. They’ve since co-starred in the drama series Big Sky and the Lifetime movie The Hammer.
