Jimmy Buffett Honored With Posthumous Induction Into The Music City Walk Of Fame
Jimmy Buffett received one of Nashville’s highest honors upon his induction into the Music City Walk of Fame on October 30. The late “Margaritaville” singer was honored alongside The Fairfield Four, Colin Reed, and Bill Cody.
Luke Combs was originally supposed to be inducted into the same class. However, he delayed his induction to focus on his Concert for Carolina benefit concert on October 26.
The four inducted honorees received stars on the Music City Walk of Fame, located across from the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

While Jimmy was not a country singer by definition, he was welcomed into the community with open arms. Many of his closest friends and collaborators were country artists.
Considering the immense influence he had on the genre and on music as a whole, it’s no wonder why the Music City Walk of Fame decided to honor Jimmy with a star.
Coral Reefers Band Member Mac McAnally Celebrates Jimmy’s Induction Alongside Jimmy’s Daughter, Delaney
Sadly, since Jimmy passed away on September 1, 2023, he was unable to see his star on the Music City Walk of Fame. So, his daughter, Delaney, accepted it on his behalf.
Jimmy shared three children with his wife of 46 years, Jane. They welcomed two daughters, Savannah and Delaney, and a son, Cameron.
Jimmy’s longtime friend and Coral Reefer band member, Mac McAnally, also attended the Music City Walk of Fame induction ceremony. He celebrated Jimmy’s accomplishment, saying:
“Proud in all kinds of ways to be part of honoring Jimmy with his new Star on the Walk of Fame in Nashville. He and I walked by mine early last year and I took a little good natured ribbing but he deserves this and all the accolades that are piling up recently. Proud also that Delaney was there and did a fabulous job of accepting on his and the family’s behalf.”
He ended by saying, “I think everybody that walks up to his star is gonna see that name and smile. No better testimony to the life and work of JB.”
