What did Brad Paisley sing at the George Jones: Still Playin’ Possum event?

Paisley was given the task of performing what some consider to be the greatest country song of all time, “He Stopped Loving Her Today.”

Jones released the song, albeit reluctantly at first, on April 14, 1980. In fact, the last thing he said before releasing it was, “Nobody’ll buy that morbid son of a bitch.”

It ended up being released as the lead single from his album I Am What I Am. It became his first solo number one song in six years.
