Toby Keith Shares Update On His Health Following Stomach Cancer Diagnosis
Toby Keith was diagnosed with stomach cancer in the fall of 2021. He kept his diagnosis private for a few months before sharing the news with fans in June 2022.
Toby announced he was taking a step back from performing to focus on his family and his treatments.
Just recently, Toby opened up about his cancer battle and how he’s feeling now. He had some good news to share. His tumor has shrunk by a third, and he’s feeling better than before.

Although Toby is still undergoing chemotherapy, he’s hopeful for the future. “I’m about another eight weeks from my last scan,” he told The Oklahoman. “So I expect next time I look for that tumor to be even less — and I’ve only got one that’s shown up.”
Toby Keith Returns To Performing With An Impromptu Show
Toby hopes to be back on the road this fall. “I’ve got more wind. And I’m thinking about bringing the band in and setting up, playing two or three days somewhere just to see if I can get through two hours,” he said.
Turns out, he can!
Toby had a rehearsal at his Hollywood Corners restaurant and music venue in Norman, Oklahoma. That rehearsal turned into a 2 1/2 hour pop up show. “He sang all the hits plus the Bus Songs…Toby is back!” Toby’s team captioned some pictures from the performance.

Toby had so much fun, he ended up performing another show the next night! He had his buddy and writing partner Scotty Emerick join him onstage.
“It felt so right, Toby had to do it twice. Two nights in a row at @hollywoodcorners. Writing buddy @scottyemerick joined Toby. Nights to remember! Toby’s back!” his team captioned some pictures from the show.

Toby’s Son Shows Support After His Surprise Pop Up Shows
Toby’s son, Stelen, got the chance to see Toby’s shows. He attended the concert with his wife, Haley.
The trio snapped a picture together at the show. They all smiled for the camera as Toby held up his signature red solo cup.
Stelen celebrated his dad’s return to the stage in the midst of his cancer battle. He shared the picture he and Haley took with Toby, and said, “He’s back !!”
