Toby Keith Has One of the Most-Played Songs of 2024

Toby Keith’s song “I Love This Bar” is one of this year’s most popular songs, two decades after it was released.

On Tuesday, December 10, TouchTunes released the most-played songs of 2024. This year was big for country music, with four of the top five songs being country hits.

TouchTunes reports that Shaboozey’s track “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” took the No. 1 spot for the most-played song of the year. This comes as no surprise, as the track is one of the longest-running No. 1 hits in Billboard Hot 100 history.

From there, we also see recognition for Chris Stapleton’s “Tennessee Whiskey,” ranked No. 2. and Morgan Wallen’s “I Had Some Help” featuring Post Malone, ranked No. 5.

One of the most surprising moments from the list is seeing Toby Keith’s “I Love This Bar.” The track landed at number four on the most-played songs list for 2024.

“I Love This Bar” was originally released in 2003 as part of Toby Keith’s Shock’n Y’all album.

When the song debuted, it reached No. 30 on the U.S. Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart and eventually climbed to No. 1. By the end of its release year, Keith’s “I Love This Bar” was still charting at No. 44.

Now, twenty years later, the popular tune is seeing a new wave of love from fans. According to Billboard, Toby Keith also ranked No. 2 on the Top 5 Catalog Songs Played on digital jukeboxes this year and No. 3 on TouchTunes’ list of the Top 10 Played Male Artists.

Keith has been on fans’ minds a lot this year after his passing in February following a two-year battle with stomach cancer. His loss left a void in country music and millions of fans heartbroken. So, it’s clear why his music has been widely played and appreciated throughout the year.
