The Judds Team Up For “Love Can Build A Bridge” Duet At CMT Music Awards

In the leadup to the CMT Music Awards on April 11, 2022, CMT announced The Judds would perform during the ceremony. This announcement marked the mother-daughter duo’s first nationally televised performance in over 20 years.

Fans looked forward to watching Naomi and Wynonna sing together during the ceremony.

The Judds’ appearance at the CMT Music Awards came after they received recognition as future inductees into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Fans expressed renewed interest in their music following the announcement.

After performing together in the 80s and 90s, the Judds disbanded in 1991. They reunited a few times for special events and tours. Before the CMT Music Awards, their last big reunion occurred at the “All in for the Gambler” tribute concert for Kenny Rogers in 2017.

The same day as the CMT Music Awards, the Judds also announced their plans to embark on a “Final” tour in 2022.

This Was Naomi’s Final Public Performance – She Passed Away Just A Few Weeks Later

Since they were awaiting their official induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame, Naomi and Wyonna delivered their CMT Music Awards performance in front of it. They sang their 1990 hit “Love Can Build a Bridge.”

Viewers loved the performance. But no one knew it would be the last time The Judds would ever sing together.

Naomi passed away just a few weeks later on April 30. It was the day before The Judds were set to be officially inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

The induction continued as planned, and Wynonna’s sister, Ashely, accompanied her. During her speech, Wynonna spoke about how she was “broken” but “blessed” to be honored as a Hall of Fame inductee.
