Ruby Leigh Covers “Blue” By LeAnn Rimes During Season 24 Voice Knockouts
During the knockouts, Ruby opted to cover another iconic country song, “Blue” by LeAnn Rimes.
Ruby is actually older than LeAnn was when she recorded “Blue.” LeAnn was only 13 years old when she recorded the song for her debut album, also titled Blue.
“Blue” reached the 10th spot on the Hot Country Songs chart and crossed over to claim the 26th spot on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100. It has been certified Platinum by the RIAA.
Because “Blue” is a dynamic song, it’s not an easy one to sing. But Ruby rose to the challenge, and excelled.
“Blue” gave Ruby the perfect opportunity to showcase her depth and tone. It also gave her the chance to throw in some of her signature yodels, which clearly captivated the coaches.
Did Ruby Leigh Win Her Voice Knockout?

“Everything about you is original, yet you just remind us of something so classic,” said Gwen Stefani.
John Legend remarked how Reba and Ruby are the perfect fit for each other because of their shared loved of classic country music.
Reba agreed with everyone else. She was also blown away by Ruby, and said she has “that country feel” she needs on her team. Reba ended up choosing Ruby as the winner of the battle, and said “goodbye” to Ms. Monet and Rachele.
