Reba McEntire Reunites With Former Reba Co-Star On Her New Sitcom, Happy’s Place

Reba McEntire recently reunited with her former Reba sitcom co-star Christopher Rich on the set of her new show, Happy’s Place, which also stars her boyfriend Rex Linn.

Rich played McEntire’s ex-husband, Brock Hart, on Reba from 2001 to 2007. He kept in touch with McEntire after the show ended, and they maintained a close friendship.

Then, in 2018, Rich had a “life-changing” stroke. He suffered a subsequent brain injury and other health issues, including blood clots in his lungs and “debris” in his heart.

Rich took a break from acting while he recovered. Seven years later, he finally returned to TV acting when he appeared in a recent episode of McEntire’s new show, Happy’s Place.

The show gave them a chance to stage a mini Reba reunion, as Melissa Peterman, who played Brock’s wife Barbara Jean on Reba, also stars in Happy’s Place.

Rich played a tattoo artist named Maverick on Happy’s Place. The writers made Maverick a stroke survivor, just like Rich.

“It’s great to be able to be a disabled person and play a disabled person,” Rich told Us Weekly. “I’m hoping that when some of this gets out there, that people that I’ve worked with in the past are going to say, ‘OK, let’s bring him back. We can work with him.'”

We may see Rich return to the set of Happy’s Place in the future, as the show was recently renewed for a second season.

Christopher Rich Shares How He Feels About Reba’s Boyfriend Rex Linn

As mentioned previously, Reba McEntire’s real-life boyfriend, Rex Linn, also stars in Happy’s Place. While Christopher Rich didn’t share any scenes with him on the show, they surely met up to chat on set.

Since he thinks of McEntire as a “sister,” Rich has spent a lot of time with Linn over the years. 

Rich considers Linn to be a close friend, telling PEOPLE he “is one of [his] besties.” He added:

“It’s glorious to me where life has brought us all to be honest. It’s really fabulous. I’m so happy that she’s happy, and she’s happy that we got to spend time together. And Rex is happy and I’m happy for Rex … it’s just a joyous time.”
