During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Reba McEntire shared a heartwarming story about meeting Rex Linn in 1991 while filming The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw. “We were doing the Gambler movie, Kenny Rogers’ Gambler movie in ’91, and we became friends, and we have a mutual friend, and then throughout the years, we just stayed in contact.”

Sitting in the audience, Rex confirmed he had one line as Henry in the movie. That line was enough for fate to nudge McEntire and Linn closer together.

“We’d see each other once in a while, and then in 2020, before the pandemic, we were both on Young Sheldon and went out to dinner, and we’ve been inseparable ever since,” continued Reba.

“That’s a great story. That gives us all a little bit of hope,” said Andy.

During the show, two virtual guests asked Reba if she would consider marrying again. McEntire replied, “That would be up to him. I’ve been married twice, and he’s never been married, so if he wants to, that’s totally up to him.”

McEntire was married twice: to Charlie Battles from 1976 to 1987 and Narvel Blackstock, her producer and manager, from 1989 to 2015.

“Was it a head-scratcher for you when you started dating him and knew that he had never crossed the finish line of marriage?” asked Andy.

“Was it a head-scratcher? Well, ya, kind of,” replied Reba. “Ya, we talked it out.” Reba nodded.

Actor Rex Linn is most famous for his roles as Sgt. Frank Tripp on the CBS drama CSI: Miami and Kevin Wachtell on Better Call Saul.

In 2022, McEntire and Linn starred in Season 3 of ABC’s Big Sky: Deadly Trails. McEntire portrayed Sunny Barnes, while Linn played her husband, Buck Barnes.

During an interview with Good Housekeeping, McEntire spoke about her new book, Not That Fancy: Simple Lessons on Living, Loving, Eating and Dusting Off Your Boots. She expressed that her partner is her biggest cheerleader, giving her constant encouragement and ideas to improve. His enthusiasm lifts everyone’s spirits, and McEntire is grateful for his unwavering support.

It was apparent from the smiles the two shared during the show and throughout media outlets that McEntire and Linn will spend much time eating Tator Tots together.
