Country Star Reba McEntire Is Getting A New Sitcom On NBC
Reba McEntire is “very excited” about her new TV show coming to NBC. NBCUniversal announced on Monday (January 29) they ordered a pilot for a new sitcom starring McEntire.
The logline for the show describes its plot and premise as such:
“Reba inherits her father’s restaurant and is less than thrilled to discover that she has a new business partner in the half-sister she never knew she had.”
The news comes over 20 years after McEntire’s namesake sitcom, Reba, premiered. The show ran for six seasons from 2001-2007.
Fans have been calling for a Reba reboot for years. The cast would love to reunite, but plans for a reboot haven’t panned out yet.
Kevin Abbott, a former writer and executive producer on Reba, will join McEntire’s new sitcom as the head writer and executive producer. McEntire will also executive produce.
Reba’s Filmography Dates Back Decades
McEntire has an extensive filmography that dates back to 1990. That’s when she starred alongside Kevin Bacon in the comedy horror film Tremors. She later appeared in other movies including The Little Rascals, North, and Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar.
McEntire also lent her voice to animated films such as The Fox and the Hound 2 and Charlotte’s Web.
Additionally, McEntire has appeared in a number of TV shows. Other than Reba, she starred in another sitcom, Malibu Country. She also has (or had) recurring roles in shows such as Hercules, Baby Daddy and Young Sheldon.
She appears in the latter series alongside her boyfriend, Rex Linn. More recently, the two of them co-starred in the Lifetime movie The Hammer and the third season of the ABC series Big Sky.

Needless to say, McEntire is incredibly passionate about acting. So she’s thrilled to be starring in a new sitcom soon.
McEntire shared the news about the show on her Instagram Story. She also reacted to the news, saying she is “very excited” for the sitcom to air.
We don’t know the title of McEntire’s new sitcom or when it will premiere. But if it’s anything like Reba, then we’ll be in for a good time!
