Additionally, McEntire has appeared in projects such as Tremors, Big Sky, Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar, and The Hammer. She’s also voiced characters in animated movies such as The Fox and the Hound 2 and Charlotte’s Web.

Now, the former Voice coach is gearing up to star in and produce a new film based on Fannie Flagg’s New York Times best-selling novel, The All-Girl Filling Station’s Last Reunion.

The book follows Sookie Poole in her hometown of Point Clear, Alabama. She looks forward to what life has in store after her daughter gets married and leaves home.

Sookie still worries about dealing with her elderly mother, Lenore, who can be domineering and is obsessed with her family lineage. But then, Sookie receives some letters that suggest she might be adopted.

From there, Sookie goes on a journey to discover who she is, uncovering the tale of Fritzi Jurdabralinski and her sisters. The women became famous for running the first all-girl filling station in the midst of World War II. Eventually, the women also became the first female pilots in the United States Air Force.

The project’s premiere date has not been announced. But whenever it debuts, we’re sure many of McEntire’s fans will turn out to the theaters to support her new role!
