Nearly a month after her mother’s passing, she opened up to PEOPLE magazine to talk about the precious last moments the two of them had together.

“I had a priest come in to give her her last rites about four days before she died, and he told me, ‘Remember Priscilla, hearing is the last thing that goes, so say positive things for her spirit,'” she told PEOPLE.

She said that even though he mother was in a coma she was still able to respond in a small, but powerful way that gave her hope.

“Every night I’d play Elvis’ gospel music to her — ‘In the Garden,” Amazing Grace,’ ‘How Great Thou Art, all the songs she loved. She was basically in a coma, but she would just touch my finger so I knew that she was there. She was listening.”

Priscilla finished by saying that on the day her mom died, she took her hand and said, “It’s okay to go. She had a little smile on her face, and then I felt this air coming from her. I never experienced that before — the actual feeling of the spirit coming out of the body.”

We’re glad Priscilla was able to share precious moments with her mom during her last days. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her and the family.
