Pam Tillis Reveals Injury Moments Before Performing At The Grand Ole Opry

On Tuesday night, Pam Tillis took the stage at the Grand Ole Opry, but fans quickly noticed she was wearing an orthopedic walking boot. This had audience members concerned about whether or not the country star was okay.

Thankfully, Tillis didn’t take long to ease fans’ concerns. She soon shared an update on her injury, seeming in high spirits. She even joked with the crowd, saying that she was “hoppy” to be there that night.

According to Parade, Tillis initially kept the real reason behind her hurt foot a mystery. She had said backstage before her performance that she was going to tell people that she got hurt while “running with the bulls in Pamplona.”

However, later that evening, she admitted the actual cause wasn’t as nearly as thrilling as she would have liked to say.

“I wish I had a more exciting story,” she said. “I’d like to say I was skipping a light fandango in Tierra del Fuego. But no, I just fell over my damn shoe.”

It may not be the exhilarating story she hoped for, but fans were happy to see that the “Maybe It Was Memphis” singer didn’t let the setback stop her from putting on a great show. The Grammy-winning artist ended up singing three songs throughout the night, including a brand-new one titled “That’s a Whole Other Bottle of Wine.”

Pam Tillis Will Soon Celebrate 25 Years As An Opry Member

Pam Tillis has a big year ahead as she prepares to celebrate her 25th anniversary as a Grand Ole Opry member. She was inducted on August 26, 2000, but her history with the iconic music venue goes back much further. She first stepped onto the stage at just eight years old, where she performed alongside her legendary singer/songwriter father Mel Tillis.
