Mongolian singer Enkh-Erdene can’t speak or understand English, but he can sing it!

Enkh-Erdene, winner of Mongolia’s Got Talent in 2016, joined the new competition series AGT: Fantasy League as a member of judge Heidi Klum’s team. During Monday night’s episode (Jan. 15), the talented singer revealed to his coach, via a translator, that he gets stage fright. But, viewers never would have guessed after he nailed his cover of Garth Brooks’ “Friends In Low Places.”

It’s safe to say that the audience was skeptical up until the moment the man dubbed “The Mongolian Cowboy” sang the song’s recognizable first line.

The singer nailed the intonation, pronunciation and even the southern drawl, showing no signs of a language barrier. The judges showered him with praise and Simon Cowell admitted that he had hoped to land Enkh-Erdene on his own team.

“Your tone is stunning, absolutely stunning. I loved this performance,” Cowell said.

Eagle-eyed fans may recognize Enkh-Erdene from his viral YouTube covers that included performances from his run on The Voice of Mongolia.

He’s covered Tennessee Ernie Ford’s “Sixteen Tons,” Elvis’ “Can’t Help Falling In Love” and “Take Me Home, Country Roads” by John Denver.

U.S. audiences got their first televised glimpse of Enkh-Erdene’s talent when he appeared on the competition show The World’s Best. The short-lived show featured Faith Hill, RuPaul and Drew Barrymore as judges. For the competition, Enkh-Erdene sang George Strait’s “Amarillo By Morning.”

The singer also sang the George Strait classic during his Mongolia’s Got Talent audition. The performance made him an early frontrunner and a bonafied country singer. But, the song that ultimately won him the competition wasn’t country at all. Instead he chose to bring his rich vocals to Michael Buble’s “Feeling Good.”

In recent years, Enkh-Erdene has gained a massive YouTube following and garnered millions of views on the platform.
