Kris Kristofferson Passed Away In Hawaii On September 28, 2024
Kris Kristofferson’s friends and family received a beautiful “sign” from the country music legend over the Thanksgiving holiday, which was also the two-month anniversary of his death.

His family shared the news of his passing on social media, writing:
“It is with a heavy heart that we share the news our husband/father/grandfather, Kris Kristofferson, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 28 at home. Weâre all so blessed for our time with him. Thank you for loving him all these many years, and when you see a rainbow, know heâs smiling down at us all.”

Kristofferson’s Loved Ones Receive A “Sign” From Him Over Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving Day (November 28) was the two-month anniversary of Kristofferson’s death. Several of his closest friends, including Willie Nelson and his wife, Annie, joined the Kristofferson family to celebrate the holiday in Hawaii.
Country artist Margo Price was also present for the Thanksgiving celebrations. She shared a post reflecting on her experience, writing:
“This is our third year to visit our chosen family, Willie and Annie Nelson (and the Kristoffersonâs!) for the holiday in Hawaii. We had a leftovers and listening party at Willieâs where we played each other mixes from our unreleased albums and swapped jokes.”
Price said Kristofferson’s wife, Lisa, prepared “a beautiful meal” on Thanksgiving. Price also shared a short clip of a stunning rainbow that appeared over the ocean during the holiday weekend.

Considering how Kristofferson’s family said to view a rainbow as a sign he’s “smiling down” on us, this rainbow seemed like a sign he was “smiling down” on his loved ones’ Thanksgiving celebration.
“Thanksgiving marked two months since Kris passed but his presence looms all around their beautiful home,” Price said. “To say we are lucky is an understatement.“
