It also included performances by modern country music stars such as Lainey Wilson, Cody Johnson, HARDY, Carly Pearce, and others! While the entire festival was one for the books, there were a few collaborations that really stood out—one of those was Jo Dee Messina’s duet with Carly Pearce.

It was Carly Pearce’s first time on the big stage and she made the most of it.

“I just have one question for you: are you ready for some country music tonight?” Pearce said as she took the stage.

This was Carly Pearce’s first time to play the big stage at the CMA Fest, and you could tell she was grateful and happy to be there. She joyfully played her seven-song set with her heart on full display. She let the crowd in on the backstory behind the songs as she sang them which really connected the crowd to her leading to a vulnerable and emotional performance. Her level of gratitude for the crowd really stood out as she humbly stated:

“This is my first time to play the big stage. God bless you country music fans. We have the greatest fans in the whole entire world and we’re so thankful for it. You have changed everything for me. I swear to you I’m having an out-of-body experience of saying, ‘I made it.'”

Carly Pearce brought out Jo Dee Messina to deliver a dynamite performance of “I’m Alright,” Messina’s 1998 hit.

The two ladies performed a dynamite rendition of the song with unbeatable harmonies that really got the crowd going. Fans were ecstatic when Jo Dee Messina, a ’90s country legend, took the stage for the second time that night to join Pearce on “I’m Alright.”

Messina said that night, “I’m so grateful to be a part of country music. I have been for the last few years… If you know how many, keep it to yourself,” she joked. “I’ve had a wonderful run.”

Before Carly ended her set with her hit song “I Hope You’re Happy Now,” a very happy happy Carly Pearce said to the crowd “Thank you for a night I’ll never forget.”
