George Strait Reacts To Record-Breaking Concert Attendance

George Strait breaks the record for concert attendance in the U.S.
King George has done it again. Over the weekend, the country music legend attracted 110,905 ticket-buying fans to his show at Texas A&M University’s Kyle Field. This monumental turnout broke the record for U.S. concert attendance set nearly 50 years ago by The Grateful Dead at their 1977 show at Raceway Park in New Jersey.
In addition to the record for concert attendance, Strait also surpassed the record for the highest attendance of any event type at Kyle Field. The previous record was set in October 2014 during the Texas A&M football game against Ole Miss.
The clip below shows how palpable the energy was in the stadium as Strait performed his 1982 hit, “Amarillo by Morning.”

George Strait reacts to “amazing” concert attendance
George Strait has a devoted fan base, and this new milestone is evidence of just how far-reaching his impact has been. While performing on stage at Kyle Field, the Texas native was informed of the final attendance number for the night. He remarked that the turnout was “amazing” and added:
“Never have we ever played in front of a crowd this big.”
