Dolly Parton Launches New Cake Mix Line Today

76-year-old cultural icon and country singer Dolly Parton partnered up with Duncan Hines to bring bakers all across America a list of Southern-inspired cake mixes and frostings.
According to the Duncan Hines website, at-home chefs will now be able to create their very own country-style dishes in their own kitchens.
The products include Southern Style Banana Flavored Cake Mix, Southern Style Coconut Flavored Cake Mix, Chocolate Buttercream Frosting, and Creamy Buttercream Frosting.
“I have always loved to cook and, growing up in the South, I especially love that authentic Mom and Pop kind of cooking,” Dolly said in a video with Duncan Hines. “I am excited to launch my own line of cake mixes and frostings with Duncan Hines, bringing that sweet, Southern-style baking experience I enjoy to others.“
Bakers won’t be making their cakes with just water, oil, and eggs, but on the back of each box, there will be a signature recipe that’s Dolly approved and will add that country flavor to it.
At the start of March, the cake mixes and frostings will be available at most major grocery stores across America for around $2.20.
However, if you can not wait that long to get your hands on one of these recipes, there is a limited number of special baking kits that will be available on the Duncan Hines website starting today, January 26.
Each kit costs $40 and includes both cake mixes and frostings, as well as a Dolly-inspired tea towel and spatula, two alternative recipes, and a letter from Dolly Parton herself.
What’s also included in the kit will be bragging rights, because you’ll be one of the first of your friends and family to try out her southern-style creations.
Both Duncan Hines and Dolly said that they plan to stay partners and share new recipes for years to come. So get your ovens ready because there will be more Dolly-fied desserts coming your way in the future!
