With more Top 10 hits under his belt than you could count, you could say Strait knows how to turn a song into a smash success.

While an artist delivers a song to the masses, no song would take off without good songwriting. This is something Strait knows well, hence why he always selects the most well-written pieces available.

One such song, called “Love’s Gonna Make It Alright,” was written by an incredibly skilled songwriting duo.

Al Anderson, former lead guitarist of the rock band NRBQ, co-wrote “Love’s Gonna Make It Alright.” After leaving NRBQ, Anderson turned to writing country music.

Anderson eventually penned songs for popular artists such as Vince Gill and Trisha Yearwood. He also wrote Tim McGraw’s number one hit “The Cowboy in Me.”

Chris Stapleton served as the other songwriter behind “Love’s Gonna Make It Alright.”

Before Stapleton’s solo career took off, most people knew him as a songwriter. A talented one at that, known for writing songs such as “Drink a Beer,” “Never Wanted Nothing More,” and “Your Man.”

Stapleton often placed his vocal skills on display at various songwriter showcase concerts in the earlier years of his career. One such concert took place in 2012, the year after Strait released his recording of “Love’s Gonna Make it Alright” as a single.

The song peaked at the third spot on the Hot Country Songs chart. It also crossed over to claim the 61st spot on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100.

To honor the success of the song he co-wrote, Stapleton performed “Love’s Gonna Make it Alright” at the 2012 songwriter showcase. With nothing but his voice and his guitar, Stapleton captivated the entire room with his passionate performance.
