Post Malone & Blake Shelton Take “Pour Me A Drink” To #1 On Billboard‘s Country Airplay Chart

Thanks to his latest #1 hit, Blake Shelton just tied a Billboard chart record held by Tim McGraw.

Billboard announced that “Pour Me a Drink,” Shelton’s new collaboration with Post Malone, topped the Country Airplay chart dated for October 12. The pair released the song on June 21 as the second single from Post Malone’s debut country album, F-1 Trillion.

Just a few days later, an official music video was released. It currently has over 25 million views on YouTube alone.

“Pour Me a Drink” trickled steadily up the Country Airplay chart until it finally settled at the #1 spot. Billboard reports the song experienced a 5% advance to 27.9 million audience impressions, leading to its ascent.

This is Post Malone’s second time reaching #1 on the Country Airplay chart. He previously achieved the feat with “I Had Some Help,” his hit duet with Morgan Wallen.

Blake Shelton’s Latest #1 Hit Helped Him Tie With Tim McGraw’s Country Airplay Chart Record

The Country Airplay chart’s top spot is familiar territory for Blake Shelton. He first rose to #1 on the chart with “Austin” in 2001.

Before “Pour Me a Drink” reached #1, Shelton’s last Country Airplay chart-topper was “Happy Anywhere,” his 2020 duet with his now-wife, Gwen Stefani.

Overall, Shelton now has 29 singles that have reached #1 on the Country Airplay chart. This has resulted in him tying a record that was previously held solely by Tim McGraw.

Like Shelton, McGraw has also earned 29 chart-topping hits on the Country Airplay chart. The two singers now tie for the record of the second-most #1 hits earned in the chart’s 34-year history.

But who has the most #1 hits on the Country Airplay chart? That distinction goes to Kenny Chesney, who’s earned 33 Country Airplay chart-toppers over the course of his career.

Shelton and McGraw would need to earn five #1 songs to dethrone Chesney from the top spot. Only time will tell if one of them will surpass his feat.

For now, congratulations to Shelton (and Post Malone) for taking “Pour Me a Drink” to #1! Watch the duo perform the song live at the 2024 CMA Fest by tuning in to the video below.
