Country Music Legend Alan Jackson Celebrated His 66th Birthday On Thursday, October 17

Alan Jackson recently celebrated his 66th birthday, and offered a look into how he spent his special day.

The “Chasin’ That Neon Rainbow” singer was born on October 17, 1958, in Newnan, Georgia. He’s now one of the most successful artists in country music, and he and his wife, Denise, have three beautiful daughters.

When he isn’t performing or writing new songs, Jackson loves spending his time on the water.

That’s exactly how Alan celebrated his 66th birthday this week. A short video uploaded to Alan’s Instagram page shows him cruising on the water in one of his beloved wood boats.

According to a 2022 article from Off The Hook Yachts, Alan’s love for boating came from his father, Gene. Alan learned how to drive his dad’s old plywood boat as a child.

It’s the same boat that Alan mentions in his #1 hit, “Drive (For Daddy Gene).”

Off the Hook Yachts describes Alan’s impressive collection of boats, including one named the “Hoochie Coochie” after a line in his song, “Chattahoochee.” The singer also had a yacht dubbed “Hullbilly,” which went up for auction for $8.2 million in 2023.

It’s unclear which one of Alan’s boats he took out on his 66th birthday. Regardless, he seemed to be having a great time! The video he shared on Instagram shows him lounging behind the wheel before smiling and waving at the camera.

Thank y’all for all the birthday wishes. Got to enjoy one of my favorite pastimes on my birthday!” Alan captioned the video.

Alan Jackson Recently Received Two Major Awards

Alan has had a lot to celebrate lately. He recently received two prestigious awards: the Kris Kristofferson Lifetime Achievement Award and the ACM’s Poets Award.

Both awards recognized Alan’s incredible talents as a songwriter.

Eric Church honored Alan at the ACM Honors by singing “Chasin’ That Neon Rainbow.” Alan went on to reference that song and his daddy, Gene, in his speech.

“I’d just like to dedicate this to my daddy Gene and that old radio he won a long time ago…I’ve definitely lived that honky tonk dream y’all.”

Watch Alan’s full speech in the video below. We hope he had the happiest birthday this year!
