Jackson is entering a new chapter of his life after he finishes his farewell tour titled Last Call: One More for the Road Tour.

He kicked off the tour on August 2nd and will wrap in up on May 17, 2025 in Milwaukee.

Speaking about why he’s retiring from touring, Jackson said, “I’ve been touring for over 30 years, you know, and heading into my twilight years. My daughters are all grown, we have one grandchild and one on the way…I’m enjoying spending more time at home and don’t want to be away. [I] had a wonderful, wonderful career and my fans always show up and have a good time, and I’m going to try to give them the best show I can for the ‘Last Call.’”

The grandchild that was on the way was born on June 20 to his eldest daughter Mattie and her husband, Connor Smith. They welcomed little Wesley Alan Smith to the family.

In a new video posted to his social media pages, Jackson was asked how his family has inspired his music.

He began by saying his family has inspired so much of his music, “Denise especially,” he says. Jackson then divulged that his daughters, have become huge fans of his music, but not his biggest hits.

“The girls have been fans,” Jackson said. “I can see as they’ve gotten older, they’ve listened to songs that were just album cuts and weren’t hits. I can tell now they’re appreciative of my songwriting, which means a lot to me.”

He continued, “They’ve told me they’ve realized that I was a little different writer than some people and they really enjoy seeing that now, or learning that. Listening to some of the lyrics and melodies that they might not have been familiar with on the radio.”

For a songwriter, this is some of the highest praise anyone could get from their kids! Watch the video below.
