The Voice dropped some huge news ahead of Season 23…country music legend Reba McEntire is serving as the season’s Mega Mentor!

McEntire previously appeared on The Voice in a different mentorship role. She was the Battle Advisor for Team Blake during the show’s first season.

Now as Season 23’s Mega Mentor, McEntire serves as an advisor to all four teams while they prepare for the knockouts. According to NBC, those episodes will start airing on April 17.

McEntire has a lot of experience working with two of the four coaches. She has been good friends with Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson for years.

McEntire is also working with new coaches Niall Horan and Chance the Rapper. Horan opened up to NBC about his experience with McEntire, and made it clear he’s a fan.

It was an honor to work with Reba McEntire,” Horan said. “Just to even be in the same room as her. She’s a legend. She transcends country music. She’s just an icon.”

Horan said he and the contestants were amazed by McEntire’s presence:

“So when I found out that I was going to meet her, I was blown away, and the Contestants’ faces [were] just insane. When they walked in, they didn’t have a clue. And they were just blown away by the whole thing.”

Horan said McEntire was a valuable asset to his team, because “she’s got wisdom that only a few people have. And she’s willing to give some of it away.

We can’t wait to see McEntire in action on The Voice!
