Jimmy Carter, The 39th President Of The United States, Died On December 29
Country singer Trisha Yearwood has joined the thousands of people paying tribute to Jimmy Carter following his recent death. The former President died at his home in Plains, Georgia on Sunday (December 29) at the age of 100.
Carter served as the 39th President of the United States from 1977 to 1981. After leaving the White House, he devoted himself to philanthropic endeavors and co-founded The Carter Center with his wife, Rosalynn.

The organization’s mission is “to prevent and resolve conflicts, enhance freedom and democracy, and improve health” worldwide.
The Carters also worked closely with Habitat for Humanity. The nonprofit organization builds housing for those in need.
Country music superstars (and married couple) Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are also known for their work with Habitat for Humanity. They worked alongside President and Mrs. Carter for many years, and they formed a strong friendship.
“You learn several thingsâ when working alongside the Carters,” Yearwood told the Associated Press in 2023. “You learn that you better be working all the time â if you look like youâre standing there idle, President Carter will ask you if you need a job, if you need something to do.”

Brooks released his own statement on December 30, writing:
“President Carter, the legacy you and Rosalynn have left us is as beautiful as the life you lived. Thank you for your lifetime of service to our country and the world. You inspired us not just by what you said, but by what you built. We love you.”
