Trace Adkins Releases Alluring New Single, “What Color’s Your Wild”

Trace Adkins Releases First New Single Since 2021
Country music icon Trace Adkins just released his latest single, “What Color’s Your Wild.” Fans rejoiced when Adkins announced its release, as it’s his first new single in four years.
The last single Adkins released to country radio was 2021’s “Where the Country Girls At,” featuring Luke Bryan and Pitbull. It was the only single Adkins released from his 17th studio album, The Way I Wanna Go.
Some of his other more recent singles include “Better Off,” “Watered Down,” and the patriotic track “Still a Soldier.” He was also featured on Blake Shelton‘s 2019 single “Hell Right,” which reached the 14th spot on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

Adkins first teased the release of “What Color’s Your Wild” on February 13. The following day (February 14), he revealed the single’s name and release date.
“Youâll want to turn this up and play it loud!” Adkins’ team shared in a post promoting the song’s release. The post also contained the single’s cover art, which is a black-and-white photo of Adkins with neon blue accents.
A few days later, Adkins announced his 2025 tour, which is named after his new song.

Listen To “What Color’s Your Wild” Now
As promised, Adkins released “What Color’s Your Wild” on Friday (February 28) and shared a lyric video to accompany the track.
In “What Color’s Your Wild,” Adkins tries to understand more about the lady in his life. What inspires her? What makes her feel alive?
He asks these questions with tie-ins to different colors, asking if she likes “dancing in a Purple Rain” or prefers “90-proof Lynchburg brown.”
For him, personally, Adkins says the thing that colors his wild is the “pink shade of reckless” on his lady’s “innocent smile.”
The alluring new single was a hit with fans. They shared their reactions in the comments section of the lyric video on YouTube, writing:
“I just love the way he sounds.”
“Love this song Trace.”
“Good Country song.”
“I needed this song, a place to escape.”
“Trace Adkins is always satisfying.”
“I really like this song, takes me back.”
