Toby Keith’s 35 Biggest Hits album re-entered the Billboard 200 chart after his death earlier this year

Toby Keith died tragically at the age of 62 on February 5, 2024, after a years-long battle with stomach cancer. After his passing, his music experienced a swift resurgence in popularity, with thousands of fans tuning in to revisit the work of the talented singer/songwriter.

The week following his death became Toby’s best sales week of his career. He claimed nine of the top ten spots on the Country Digital Song Sales chart, making him the first artist to ever occupy 90% of the chart’s top ten slots. The previous record was 70%, which Tayor Swift set in 2010 and Kenny Rogers tied following his death in 2020.

Additionally, 35 Biggest Hits re-entered the Billboard 200 that week in the number one spot.

This week, 35 Biggest Hits has officially reached a staggering 150 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart!

Toby Keith’s team made the announcement on his official Instagram account, sharing that the album created to celebrate his most beloved songs had spent a total of 150 non-consecutive weeks on the Billboard 200. This marks Toby Keith’s fifth album to have held the top spot on the chart.
