On a memorable night at Toby Keith’s concert in Charlotte, North Carolina, the audience chanted “USA! USA! USA!” before a poignant and solemn moment unfolded. During the performance, Toby Keith invited American hero Lt. Col. Harry Frizzell Sr. on stage, a moment that left him overwhelmed with emotion.
Keith introduced Frizzell, who had dedicated 34 years of his life to serve in Vietnam, Korea, and WWII, and had raised four kids back home. The two men held hands as Keith dedicated his most patriotic songs to Frizzell, songs that spoke of the sacrifice and bravery of American soldiers.
Keith performed “American Soldier” and “Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue,” after which Frizzell tearfully saluted the crowd, before Keith handed him the microphone.
Frizzell then spoke to the applauding audience, “My name is Lt. Col. Harry Frizzell. I’m from Oklahoma just like this gentleman…I would like to say just a few sentences here. God bless America.”
The video captured Keith dabbing tears from his eyes, as the touching moment between him and Frizzell highlighted the importance of honoring our veterans and their selfless sacrifices for our country.
The heartwarming performance and tribute to a hero continue to inspire people to this day, reminding us to always remember and appreciate the bravery of our troops. God bless America.
