Patty Loveless/YouTube

Patty Loveless has a career resume that most artists envy. Loveless’s timeless voice is a blend of bluegrass and traditional country, making her voice the perfect match for any artist of any genre, and giving her a signature sound.

With four platinum albums, 44 Top 10 Billboard Hot Country Singles (five that hit No. 1), 19 CMA Awards nominations with five wins, 19 ACM Awards nominations that included two Top Female Vocalist wins, 13 Grammy Award nominations with two wins, a Grand Ole Opry membership and an upcoming induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Kentucky native was one of the most successful artists in the last two decades of the 20th century.

In 2009, Patty Loveless mostly retired from touring. She occasionally made appearances on other artists’ albums in the years since, but her priority has been taking care of her husband, Emory Gordy Jr., as he faced health issues over the last 14 years.

In 2022, Patty made a triumphant return to the stage when she joined Chris Stapleton at the Kentucky Rising flood relief concert. Loveless’s surprise appearance was an emotional one for her and for the crowd who was reminded why she is one of the greatest female country voices of all time.
