Kristen Brown performed Martina McBride‘s song “This One’s For The Girls” during her Knockout Round performance on The Voice.

The 24-year-old singer first caught the attention of The Voice coaches when her performed the Carrie Underwood song “Blown Away” for her Blind Audition. Both Reba McEntire and Gwen Stefani turned their chairs for her, while John Legend and Niall Horan decided to let the two Oklahomans fight each other for her.

Even though McEntire is the “queen” of country music, Stefani put up a good fight and leveraged her marriage to Blake Shelton and her country hits with him! It’s safe to say, it worked because Brown chose Stefani as her coach!

Kristen Brown takes on a Celine Dion song in the Battle Rounds.

For the Battle Round, Stefani teamed Kristen up with Juliette Ojeda and gave them the Celine Dion song “That’s The Way It Is.” They both laid it all out there, but one one could win. And that singer was….Kristen!

Next up for Kristen was preparing for the Knockout Rounds, which is similar to the Battle Rounds, but you get to sing solo again. For the episode that aired on Monday (Nov. 13), she was up against teammates CORii and Kara Tenae, who each sang “Ain’t It Fun” and “Leave (Get Out),” respectively.

She performed Martina McBride’s 2003 hit song “This One’s For The Girls,” which was included on her seventh studio album, Martina. Kristen took Mega Mentor Wynonna Judd’s advice about looking in the camera, so the audience at home can relate to the song more.

In the end, Stefani chose Kara Tenae as the winner of the Knockout, but Kristen’s journey on The Voice is not over because John Legend used his one and only steal on her! We thought she was the outright winner and would have loved her to stay on Team Gwen, but we’re so happy she is continuing the competition on team Legend!
