Shenandoah‘s lead singer Marty Raybon is in mourning following the death of his older brother, Richard “Ricky” Raybon, at the age of 63.

Marty shared the news of Ricky’s death via a statement on social media. Shenandoah posted his statement on the band’s accounts as well:

My brother Rick never met a stranger and was a block and Brick layer by trade,” Marty said of his big brother. “He loved his family and music. He will truly be missed, until we meet on the shores of the everlasting, Rest In Peace.”

Marty said in lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Ricky can do so by making a donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Research hospital in his name. You can make a donation by clicking this link or by mailing a check to the following address:

Marty closed his statement by thanking all of his and Shenandoah’s fans for thinking of him during this difficult time. Thank you for your thoughtfulness and prayers,” Marty wrote before signing off.

His statement was accompanied by a memorial photo of Ricky, which you can see below.

Our hearts go out to Marty and the rest of the Raybon family as they mourn their loss. May Ricky rest in peace.
