Scotty McCreery Keeps It Country With “Hello Darlin'” Cover In Louisville

Scotty McCreery had thousands of people falling in love with his cover of Conway Twitty‘s “Hello Darlin'” during a recent concert in Kentucky.

McCreery is one of the special guests joining reigning CMA Male Vocalist of the Year Cody Johnson on select dates of his 2026 tour. McCreery opened for Johnson at the KFC YUM! Center in Louisville, Kentucky, on Valentine’s Day (February 14).

And what better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than with a romantic country classic? McCreery treated the crowd to a swoon-worthy cover of “Hello Darlin’,” and they couldn’t get enough.

One concertgoer named Kayla Marie shared a video of McCreery’s performance on TikTok. Her video generated nearly 50,000 views and over 100 comments, with people writing:

Scotty’s voice has aged like fine wine…wow.”

This is amazing!!! I’d never pay to go listen to the new country…but I’d pay big money to go see Scotty to this!! Heck yeah.”

Scotty did great on this song.”

Fantastic! I loved Conway…you did him good!

This was my favorite part of his set!

“Hello Darlin'” wasn’t the only timeless track that McCreery performed that night. It was part of a classic country medley that also included covers of Randy Travis‘ “Forever and Ever, Amen,” Johnny Cash‘s “Folsom Prison Blues,” Alan Jackson‘s “Chattahoochee,” John Michael Montgomery’s “Sold,” and Garth Brooks‘ “Ain’t Goin’ Down (‘Til the Sun Comes Up).”

This Wasn’t The First Time Scotty McCreery Covered Conway Twitty…

Scotty McCreery is no stranger to covering Conway Twitty’s “Hello Darlin’.” The song has been a standard in his setlist for years.

In celebration of its 100th anniversary last year (2025), the Grand Ole Opry revealed a list of the 100 Greatest Country Songs. To no surprise, “Hello Darlin'” landed on the list.

The Opry (of which McCreery has been a member since 2024) asked him to share what makes “Hello Darlin'” so special to him.

The first two words, the way he says it…Conway had a swagger about him that nobody had, you know?” McCreery said.

He added, “I heard it playing on the record player when I was growing up from my mom, she loved Conway Twitty…’Hello Darlin” was just that classic that we would always go back to.
