While the married couple was visiting NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, they decided to sing a little song for the astronauts in space.

When Did Garth Brooks Sing For The International Space Station?

During a visit to the Johnson Space Center on June 29, 2017, Garth sang “The River” for astronauts Jack Fischer and Peggy Whitson, who were on the International Space Station.

How Everyone Celebrated The Performance

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being such an inspiration to so many,” Fischer said to Brooks at the time.

Whitson tweeted about the serenade and included a photo they all took together. She even recommended what Brooks and Yearwood should try for lunch at the Space Center.

Brooks also celebrated the occasion with a selfie, and he posed a valid question: “Could this be the longest distance selfie EVER?”
