Reba McEntire Announces Release Of New Book, “Not That Fancy”

Country music superstar Reba McEntire shared some exciting news on Wednesday (April 12). She’s releasing a new book!

McEntire shared the news along with a video announcing an appearance on TalkShopLive. She promised to talk about the book then.

But McEntire went ahead and revealed the name of the book. It’s called Not That Fancy. Of course, the title offers a nod to McEntire’s famous rendition of the Bobbie Gentry song, “Fancy.”

Additionally, McEntire shared her “good buddy” Garth Brooks wrote the book’s foreword. She said Brooks would join her to chat on TalkShopLive too.

The Description

McEntire provided a description of the book to TalkShopLive. She said:

“To me there’s nothing better than sitting out on the porch of Southeastern Oklahoma looking out at the deep red dirt that goes on for miles. A beautiful sunset, and then me, just sipping on a glass of iced tea (or whiskey) with loved ones, and seeing who can get who to crack up first. I don’t know what heaven’s going to look like, but if I get any say in the matter, I’d tell the Big Boy Upstairs that’s all I want. Just me, people I love, and those acres of red dirt. Throw in some beans and cornbread, and I’m all set.

All in all, I think the secret to a nice life isn’t that complicated. Most of us probably already know it in our bones, and that’s what I want to get back to. Simple fun, hard work, good food, and laughing with those you love.”

McEntire continued:

“That’s what I’m sharing on these pages—some simple, not-that-fancy truths I live by, and a bunch of good stories, photos, and recipes that go along with them. Finally, McEntire unveiled the cover for Not That Fancy during an appearance on TODAY on Monday (April 17). 

The cover shows McEntire standing in a doorway while wearing a casual white shirt and light denim jeans. She sports a huge smile and leans against the door with one hand tucked in her waistband.

Her name is printed in a peachy colored font at the top, while the book’s title appears at the bottom in a white, cursive-like script.
