Post Malone is embracing his country roots more and more.

In November 2023, Post Malone performed a Joe Diffie tribute at the CMA Awards alongside HARDY and Morgan Wallen. The latter two opened the performance with “John Deere Green,” and Post Malone joined them for “Pickup Man.”

Fans enjoyed it because it is one of the most watched YouTube videos from the evening.

But, as it turns out, Post Malone has been singing country music for many years. He grew up on it, seeing as he is from Dallas, Texas!

Over the years, videos of him singing Hank Williams, Brad Paisley, and so much more have been shared.

Most recently, he performed at the Academy of Country Music Awards.

Post Malone made his ACM Awards debut on May 16, 2024, when he performed “I’ll Never Love You Again” and his duet with Morgan Wallen, “I Had Some Help.” Ironically, he had no help from Wallen during this performance, and he sang it solo!

Once he received a standing ovation for those songs, the show’s host, Reba McEntire, joined him on stage to propose a question.

“We recently lost Dickey Betts from the Allman Brothers Band,” Reba said. “And if you would, let’s sing a little bit of ‘Ramblin’ Man,’ Okay?”

Post Malone replied, “I don’t see why not!”

Together, they sang “Ramblin’ Man” to the audience, which was a complete surprise!

The audience loved every second that Post Malone was on stage.

Post Malone makes multiple surprise appearances at the 2024 CMA Fest.

Post Malone proved that he was ready to dive deep into being a country star when he made not one but two surprise appearances at the annual CMA Fest, a three-day music festival held in Nashville, Tennessee.

While he was not in the lineup for the main stage at Bridgestone Arena, Post Malone hopped on stage – with Blake Shelton no less!

They performed their upcoming duet “Pour Me a Drink,” which they have been filming the music video for. Another surprise performance came at Shelton’s bar Ole Red. During CMA Fest, Ole Red is home to Spotify House, which had its own incredible lineup of country acts including Old Dominion, Luke Bryan, Riley Green, Jon Pardi and more. The Spotify House lineup did include four surprise performance slots. One of those went to Post Malone!

He and Shelton performed a stripped down version of “Pour Me A Drink” and Posty added in a song or two of his own, one of which was a George Strait classic. Hailing from the great state of Texas, Post Malone knows all about the impact Strait has had on country music not only in Texas, but around the world.

Sitting on a barstool while wearing a cowboy hat and boots, Post performed Strait’s 1997 hit song “Carrying Your Love With Me.” Immediately, he had the whole audience singing along!
