Marty Raybon, frontman of country band Shenandoah, and Jason Aldean shared a photo together on social media, hinting at a potential collaboration.
Marty Raybon is known primarily for his role as the lead singer of the country band Shenandoah, serving as the lead singer from 1985 to 1997 and later rejoining the group in 2014.
About The Band
Shenandoah has released nine studio albums, of which two have been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. The band has also charted twenty-six singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, including number one hits “The Church on Cumberland Road” and “Two Dozen Roses” from 1989.
The band released a collaborative album in 2020 titled Every Road, which featured vocal collaborations with country music artists such as Brad Paisley and Luke Bryan. “Then a Girl Walks In,” a duet with Blake Shelton, served as the lead single.
More recently, Shenandoah recorded a new version of “Two Dozen Roses” with Luke Combs. Billboard Magazine premiered the track on September 21, 2023. Upon release, the song hit #1 on the iTunes All Genre and Country Charts.
Shenandoah’s Marty Raybon and Mike McGuire talked about remaking “Two Dozen Roses” with Luke Combs on the Big D & Bubba show.
“We started getting videos that people would send us of Luke singing ‘Two Dozen Roses’ on his shows, so I reached out to Luke. We got to talking, ‘Man, how cool would that be? Man, if we get Luke to come in there, maybe sing a verse or a Chorus or something like that.’ So, we started the dialogue back and forth with text and and next thing you know, Luke said, ‘Yeah man, I’m in.’”
