Mark Chesnutt fans are concerned about the country star after he cut a recent concert short due to health issues.

On Thursday, February 12, Chesnutt was scheduled to perform at the Oxford Performing Arts Center in Alabama. But the night didn’t go as planned.

He had only gotten through a few songs into his set before he exited the stage. Not long after, it was announced that he would be unable to continue.

Fans who came to see Chesnutt were very surprised by his abrupt exit. The venue later posted a statement on Facebook, explaining that he had to leave the stage due to a “sudden illness.”

Those who attended the show will have the option to either go to a rescheduled date or receive a full refund.

“We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding. Situations like this are extremely rare at the Oxford Performing Arts Center, and we are grateful for the kindness shown by our patrons this evening,” the statement concluded.

Concerns about Chesnutt’s health grew even more when he postponed two more shows. He was set to perform on February 13 in Augusta, Georgia, and February 14 in Smithfield, North Carolina.

So far, neither Chesnutt nor his team has released a public statement about his recent health issues.

However, according to Taste of Country, his publicist shared that he backed out of the shows due to a “sinus infection.”

“It was affecting his voice and he wasn’t able to continue the show,” the outlet was told. “He should be good to go soon.”

Mark Chesnutt Has A Long History Of Health Issues

In October, Chesnutt missed a show in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, after he experienced a medical emergency before arriving at the venue. He was quickly rushed to the hospital.

A representative for the “Brother Jukebox” singer later confirmed that tests revealed he had a low sodium level along with very high blood pressure.

Chesnutt has had other health challenges in recent years as well. In 2024, he underwent emergency quadruple bypass surgery and had to take a couple of months off to recover.

Before that, in 2021, he had major back surgery. This procedure was to treat long-term pain caused by a fracture he had dealt with for years.

According to Chesnutt’s official website, his next scheduled show will take place on Saturday, February 21, in Jackson, Mississippi. As of now, he still has tour dates on the calendar that run through the end of August.
