Jimmy Buffett’s Charleston Show Postponed As Jimmy Enters Hospital

Jimmy Buffett and his band, The Coral Reefer Band, were scheduled to perform in Charleston, South Carolina on Saturday (May 20). Unfortunately, they had to reschedule the show due to Buffett’s health.

Buffett shared an announcement on social media on Thursday (May 18). He said:

“I had a sudden change in plans this week that affected us all. Two days ago, I was just back from a trip to the Bahamas, thawing out from the California ‘winter tour,’ and chomping at the bit to get to Charleston. I had to stop in Boston for a check-up but wound up back in the hospital to address some issues that needed immediate attention.”

Buffett went on to say:

“Growing old is not for sissies, I promise you. I also will promise you, that when I am well enough to perform, that is what I’ll be doing in the land of She-Crab soup.”

He thanked has fans for keeping them in their thoughts and prayers, and for helping him live the life of his dreams.

Tickets to the Charleston show will be honored on the new date, which is yet to be announced. Ticket holders will receive more information in an email down the line.

This Isn’t The First Time Jimmy Buffett’s Health Has Changed His Plans

This news comes after Buffett announced the cancellations and postponements of multiple shows in September 2022. That time, Buffett said the shows were affected “due to [his] health issues and [a] brief hospitalization.”

Buffett’s doctors ordered him to cease touring for the remainder to 2022 “to recuperate and heal.” He followed their orders, and eventually returned to the stage this year. The Charleston show was the only show left listed on Buffett’s website for 2023.

We’ll be keeping Buffett in our prayers, and hope he gets well soon.
