IDOL: Kyndal Inskeep Enthralls With Unique Spin On “Nothing But The Blood Of Jesus”

American Idol Contestants Share Songs Of Faith
The traditional hymn “Nothing but the Blood of Jesus” got a moment in the spotlight on Monday night (March 30th) during American Idol‘s “Songs of Faith” episode. And what a moment it was!
Previously on Idol, the Top 30 singers performed in Hawaii at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa. They sang in front of the judges and three focus groups in the new ‘Ohana Round, where Inskeep sang her original song, “Women of Me.”
Each of the three focus groups had a Platinum Ticket to award. Inskeep received the Platinum Ticket from the focus group comprised of “industry tastemakers.” That gave her a guaranteed spot in the Top 20.
An elimination at the beginning of the episode on March 30th narrowed the Top 20 down to the Top 14. Inskeep made the cut, so she got the chance to perform her chosen “Song of Faith.”
That song was “Nothing but the Blood of Jesus.”
Idol Star Kyndal Inskeep Captivates The Judges With “Nothing But The Blood Of Jesus”
“Nothing but the Blood of Jesus” is an American hymn written in 1876. The song has been covered by many artists over the years, including Randy Travis and Idol judge Carrie Underwood.
Inskeep gave her version a unique and surprising spin. Her performance could be described as haunting, but in a beautiful way. She also appeared to be holding herself in at the beginning, making it seem like she could burst at a moment’s notice.
And burst she did! Once she finally let herself go, her voice exploded in an enthralling manner. Unable to contain her energy any longer, she bounced around the stage and threw her free hand into the air.
The judges gave Inskeep a standing ovation and made it clear that they’d love to see more of what she showcased that night. Lionel Richie remarked:
“The most enjoyable part is watching you just almost try not to implode. You were so contained! I said, ‘For God’s sake, let it out, let it go’…Bring me more of that.”
Carrie Underwood also showered Inskeep with praise, saying:
“You are such an artist, and I do not, for the life of me, know how you are not like, super duper famous already. Actually, I do know, because that’s how the Lord works, and you’re here for this time, right now. That was incredible…I’m just in awe watching you.“
Luke Bryan added, “I was really happy to see the song flow through your body, and your soul, and your voice.”
