Hank Williams Jr. said “I do” to longtime friend Brandi Fields in an intimate church ceremony earlier this month, and now his daughter has shared her thoughts on his “good news.”

The nuptials came just days after Hank Jr., 74, announced his engagement to Brandi, 43. According to their wedding announcement posted to social media, the couple have known each other since 2003. They said their vows at Enon Baptist Church in Brandi’s home state of Alabama after getting engaged on Mother’s Day.

The union marks the fourth marriage for Hank Williams Jr. whose third wife, Mary Jane Thomas, passed away in March 2022. Hank and Mary Jane had been married nearly 32 years at the time of her death.

On Sunday, September 17, the Williams family (and the country music community) celebrated the 100th birthday of their patriarch, Hank Williams, and Hank Jr.’s wedding was a topic of conversation.

Holly Williams, daughter of Hank Jr., made an appearance at her grandfather’s graveside at Oakwood Cemetery in Montgomery, Alabama. She was joined by her four children, Stella June, Lillie Mae Louise, Arlo Gale and Georgia Grace.

Holly addressed the crowd and spoke of the legacy her famous granddad left behind and his influence on country music.

“Of all the things that Hank brought to this world is unity and harmony. I love seeing literally all walks of life here, people from everywhere, who think different, listen to different music, from all over the world, from all different places, young and old, and the joy that he brought to all of us, and the harmony and the community he brought through simple, plain English that touched all our hearts. The Hillbilly Shakespeare as they called him,” Holly said.

Holly shared an update on her other family members, including her dad who wasn’t at the graveside memorial due to being on his honeymoon. But, it was her daughter Ellie Mae who stole the spotlight when she unexpectedly spoke up.

“My daddy had some good news — he got married last weekend….” Holly said. As the crowd reacted with applause, 7-year-old Ellie Mae told the audience, “It was his fifth time!”

Laughter ensued at the unexpected announcement, and Holly handled it like a pro, laughing along with the crowd. As soon as the laughing died down, she continued talking about her dad’s marriage.

“After the loss of my late sister, many of you know Katie, in 2020 who we lost in a tragic car accident. And then we tragically lost my dad’s wife of over 30 years a year and a half ago. So we are very happy for him. He was reconnected with an old friend, so they are on their honeymoon,” Holly said of her dad.
