George Jones’ Widow Nancy Jones Asks Followers To Pray For Her Daughter After “Horrible” Accident

George Jones‘ widow, Nancy Jones, is asking people to pray for her daughter, Adina.

In a message on George’s official Facebook page, Nancy shared that Adina was involved in “a horrible lawnmower accident” on Wednesday (September 27).

Nancy explained the treatment Adina has received so far, including surgery:

She had surgery today [September 28] and they cleansed the wound intensely. They put a wound vac on the area. The heel bone is completely gone – the pad of her heel is gone. We will meet with the surgeon in the morning so he can lay out her options – this is how I understand the options to be, but will be discussed in detail tomorrow.”

What Does This Mean For Adina Moving Forward?

From there, Nancy listed the two options Adina is looking at right now:

1. She can have multiple surgeries to remove areas from other parts of her body to rebuild the heel. There is no rebuild of the heel bone due to the mass damage and parts missing. She still may not be able to walk on it ever. 2. The other option is amputation and learning to walk with a prosthetic foot.

Nancy ended her post by saying:

So please everyone keep my sweet baby girl in your prayers – we need all we can get!!!

People left tons of well-wishes for Adina in the comments. As of this writing, over two thousand people have left messages expressing their support.

George & Nancy Jones’ Love Story

George married Nancy Sepulvado in 1983. She had a monumental impact on his life and his life and career:

No teenage boy ever fell harder for a girl than I fell for Nancy Sepulvado. When I met my future wife on a blind date in November 1981, I had no idea that someday she would save my life…They say love can change the world. I’m here to testify that it changed one man. Friends, family, doctors, therapists and ministers had tried to save me, but to no avail. But finally the power of love from one woman, Nancy Jones, made the difference,” George wrote in his 1996 autobiography, I Lived to Tell it All.

George and Nancy were married for 30 years when he passed away in 2013 at the age of 81. Nancy recalled his final words to her when she later spoke with The Tennessean:

George said, ‘Well, hello there.’ He said, ‘I’ve been looking for you.’ He said, ‘My name’s George Jones.’ And he was gone. He closed his eyes and that was the end of it.
