Beloved singer Donny Osmond is facing a lawsuit after a concertgoer claimed she suffered life-altering injuries while attending one of his shows.

The woman filing the lawsuit, Joanne Julkowski, says she traveled from Illinois to see Donny Osmond perform at Harrah’s Las Vegas on February 15, 2024.

But her night took a turn when she was allegedly hit in the head by a large inflatable ball that was tossed into the crowd during the show.

Details About The Lawsuit

Julkowski claims she suffered serious injuries from the impact.

In her filing, she says she experienced a “traumatic retinal eye injury to her right eye with retinal detachment requiring surgical intervention and resulting visual impairment, as well as associated head and neck injuries,” which she needed “extensive medical care” for, per Entertainment Weekly.

Julkowski is now seeking $15,000 in damages from Osmond, his production company, Donny Osmond Concerts, and Harrah’s Las Vegas.

The compensation she’s requesting will go towards lost wages, attorney fees, and punitive damages, the documents say.

Julkowski filed the lawsuit on February 10 in Nevada’s Clark County District Court. She argues that all three parties failed to put fans’ safety first and says she is now left to deal with the aftermath because of that alleged negligence.

“The oversized lighted balls used during the concert were designed and intended to be thrown or propelled through the audience while illuminated, and when so used, were capable of causing injury to concertgoers upon forceful impact,” claims in the suit continue.

Julkowski says the lights were dim, which reduced “visibility for patrons and limiting their ability to perceive, track, and avoid the oversized, lighted balls moving through the crowd; and there were no adequate warnings, instructions, or safety measures communicated to patrons regarding the presence, use, or hazards of the balls.”

Claims also suggest that since the incident, she has dealt with “severe emotional distress, including psychological trauma, fear, anxiety, PTSD, and loss of joy in life.”

Donny Osmond’s team has not publicly commented on the matter.
