Dwight Yoakam Reschedules Concert After Developing A Bronchial Infection
Country music icon Dwight Yoakam was forced to reschedule one of his recent concerts, citing a “bronchial infection” as the reason for the postponement.
68-year-old Yoakam planned to perform with The Mavericks at the Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino in Salamanca, New York, on Saturday (April 12). But shortly before the show, Yoakam shared his regrets that he wouldn’t be able to go onstage.
A message on the “Ain’t That Lonely Yet” singer’s social media pages read:
“Due to a bronchial infection, Dwight deeply regrets that he will not be able to perform tonight at Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino in Salamanca, NY. His performance has been rescheduled for November 8, 2025, with The Mavericks returning as support, as originally planned.”
A bronchial infection, also known as bronchitis, occurs “when the airways leading to your lungs (trachea and bronchi) get inflamed and fill with mucus.” As you would imagine, bronchitis makes it challenging to sing.
Although Yoakam couldn’t perform, the Mavericks still went onstage as planned. Tickets for the April 12 show were honored that evening AND will also be honored at the rescheduled show on November 8.

Yoakam’s team apologized for any inconvenience caused by the sudden postponement. Fans shared their well-wishes for the singer, leaving comments such as:
“Sending Dwight Yoakam my deepest wishes for a fast recovery. May you be back singing real soon.”
“Get Better Dwight.”
“Really hope you feel better soon!!”
“We enjoyed the show last night, in Poughkeepsie. He did say he was as feeling under the weather, but he was a trooper and pushed through. Feel better soon my friend!!”
“Last night was amazing but it was clear, Dwight was hurting. Iâm glad he is getting some rest tonight and that the fans still get to enjoy The Mavericks. We all want Dwight to be feel his best.”
“Get well soon we love you.”
The news comes a year after Yoakam ended one of his shows early after suffering “a spell of heat exhaustion.” The singer felt faint due to the heat and humidity when he was singing at the 2024 Railbird Music Festival in Lexington, Kentucky.
Thankfully, Yoakam made a full recovery and felt “absolutely fine” after the show.
What Is Dwight Yoakam’s Tour Schedule For 2025?
