Zach Top Headlined The Iconic RodeoHouston On March 11
Many artists’ dream to headline their night at the Houston Livestock Show, and Rodeo, better known as RodeoHouston, and Zach Top just made that dream come true.
As a headliner, the newcomer is in the company of Reba McEntire, Riley Green, Brad Paisley, Luke Bryan, Brooks & Dunn, and more.

Zach Top headlined Tuesday, March 11, just one day after country legend Brad Paisley. With just one album under his belt, a newcomer rarely gets to headline, but Top has the star power and talent to fill the arena. He had a sold-out crowd of 70,865, according to Culture Map Houston. The publication also reported that it was the biggest crowd of the year.
âThis is far and away the biggest show weâve played,â Top said at one point on stage, looking at the 70,000+ fans who came to watch him perform. He played in Alabama for just 12 people a couple of years ago.
What Songs Did Zach Perform At RodeoHouston?
Top performed his entire debut album, Cold Beer & Country Music, except track 10, “Ain’t That a Heartbreak.” He also added a couple of classic country covers, which came as no surprise to anyone, seeing as he does have the traditional/classic sound that outlets have credited with bringing back “real” country.
One of the classic covers was George Strait’s “Amarillo By Morning.” While introducing the song, which was the tenth of his 15-song set, Top told the massive crowd, “This was the first song I ever learned how to play.”
Once the audience figured out which song it was by the musical introduction, they went wild. It isn’t easy to cover George Strait, as he is the King Of Country Music, but Top and his band did the song justice!
