Dusty Hill, known as the bassist for the Texas blues-rock trio, ZZ Top, passed away on Tuesday, and since then, footage of his last show has surfaced online. 

Hill performed with ZZ Top for over 50 years. The Texas native was born May 19, 1949, and died July 28, 2021. A representative for Hill confirmed the sad news in a statement obtained by Rolling Stone. The rep also revealed that Hill’s cause of death is unknown at this time. He was 72.

On Instagram, Hill’s fellow band members, Frank and Billy, shared a joint statement in honor of their friend. In the caption, they shared:

“We are saddened by the news today that our Compadre, Dusty Hill, has passed away in his sleep at home in Houston, TX. We, along with legions of ZZ Top fans around the world, will miss your steadfast presence, your good nature and enduring commitment to providing that monumental bottom to the ‘Top’. We will forever be connected to that “Blues Shuffle in C.”
