ZZ Top’s Fate Revealed Following Dusty Hill’s Death

Dusty Hill, known as the bassist for the Texas blues-rock trio, ZZ Top, passed away on Tuesday, and fans immediately wondered if the band would come to an end in light of the loss.Â
Hill performed with ZZ Top for over 50 years. The Texas native was born May 19, 1949, and died July 28, 2021. A representative for Hill confirmed the sad news in a statement obtained by Rolling Stone. The rep also revealed that Hill’s cause of death is unknown at this time. He was 72.

On Twitter, SiriusXM radio host Eddie Trunk shared a message to fans from ZZ Top band member Billy Gibbons. He shared that Gibbons had asked him to share the band’s fate with his followers, and he also relayed a message from Hill. Eddie wrote:
“Received this just now via text from @BillyFGibbons regarding passing of Dusty Hill @ZZTop. Billy told me okay to share w/fans: As Dusty said upon his departure, âLet the show go on!â Andâ¦with respect, weâll do well to get beyond this and honor his wishes.”
While it appears that ZZ Top has no intentions to stop playing music, fans will undoubtedly miss the iconic bearded bassist.
